Author's comments:
My second attempted animutation following the loose story of a troubled Screech facing robo-Hitler, and only Punky Brewster can save the day.

It's a little sketchy but I'm learning. Hopefully you'll enjoy it a bit.

Well, you're much better than I was when I started with animutation and you seem to have a better grasp of what true animutaton is than when I stopped. You have main objects moving real well along plenty going on in the background and on the sides. I like how you outlined Bush's face, we haven't seen that in a long time.

I have 2 complaints.
1. There were too many disembodied heads.
2. The main singer sounds like he's on the verge of death.

Overall, Great job!

I can confirm that the Toxic above is toxic you all know and "love"(???)

This one had a lot of good ideas. I'm interested to see what you will do next.

I'm afraid of looking at my old posts. I bet I was the ubernoob.

A pretty good animutation, especially for an apparent beginner. I thought the Screech character was done well. The tall, almost Slenderman-like body paired well with the head and the voice. I don't know. Good though.

Well, if there was thing that's been lacking in Animutations these days, it's obscure Australian post-punk.

But yeah, I've watched both of your animutations and these are REALLY good, especially for someone who just got Flash and just started making things. (Assuming you are actually a first timer and not just an old timer posting under an alias, like I've done a few times ). It's a little rough around the edges, but that gives it charm. I think your story telling skills are quite good, and I especially admire your use of backgrounds and scenery. My only minor complaint was that I did find the middle of this video a bit too "Sailor Spoonish"but you did do your own thing with it, and I gather that you'll improve with time.

Now on the topic of preloaders, I think you just use the Basic Loader from NewGrounds:
http://www.newgrounds.com/downloads/preloaders/
and just modify it to your liking (get rid of the NG Loader, change the play button, etc). And what you can do to insert a preloader into video that doesn't have one is, on the top menu bar click Insert->Scene. Then hit Shift+F2 to bring up the "Scene" panel. Using the Scene Panel, move your new scene (most likely called "Scene 2") above your old scene so that it plays before. Then you can throw in your preloader into the new scene, and then you can post your old video here and other places like Newgrounds and Albinoblacksheep.

Anyways, Good Luck, Woo Squankity, and Keep on Rocking in the Free World!

You are actually the main reason I wanted to start making these! I was always a huge fan of "Chocolate Niblet Beans", so my use of Punky Brewster's head is totally a shameless shoutout to your Sailor Spoon.

Thanks for the advice, sir! I really appreciate it!

I doubt that's really Toxic. Toxic used to troll here under the name of "someone".

This coming from a guy who was absolutely convinced for a good while that I wasn't "Someone".

And yes it is me. I'm just blunt and honest. I compliment potential when I see it, and I call shit out when I see shit. And there's been a lot of shit posted on here in the past.

That was... epic! The play buttons didn't work, but use this ActionScript for that:

Quote:
onRelease
Play

There's some random punctuation marks that I don't remember, I think.

For a replay button, set the ActionScript on the frame to

Quote:
stop

and the ActionScript on the button to

Quote:
onRelease
gotoAndPlay(X)

but set X to the frame where the actual animation starts, not just frame 1. It's not you, just that some other people do that and it bugs me.

Other than that, the animutation was great! Especially the Rock-A-Fire Explosion. I give it a 7.

EDIT: For some odd reason, the play button worked for me the second time! Weird.

Thanks! Thanks very much! I can't quite figure out how to modify the preloaders...again, I'm brand new to flash and I'm using a trial version of the 2002 Macromedia Flash MX. I just downloaded it last week for the first time, so hopefully soon I will have the preloaders figured out.

Glad you enjoyed it though!

I still fail at preloaders. Don't worry.

EDIT: FlashKit is very useful.
