This is not my first animutation, just my first one done in Flash CS3 (and the first one I'm going to publish). I would appreciate constructive criticism, thanks!

no. just no.

although it seems like you could make something worth watching if you used a better song.

You're right. Not the best song choice.

EDIT: I just realized this is my 10th post. Yay!

Benny Hill is one of my favourites, so I wouldn't rate it abysmal just because of the music choice.

The animutation itself is so-so, Repetativeness is not my favorite cuppa.

But all in all, I give it 6/10.

Putt-Putt for the win!

You liked my Putt-Putt cameo! Well, I grew up with Putt-Putt. Huge fan of Humongous Entertainment. By the way, I put another, more obscure, Humongous character in this movie. Can you spot him?

Hint: He's in GSDJTG (my other animutation) too.

Is it just me or is it hard to comment on abstractions? Would you say this was overboard on the abstract, even for an animutation? That aside: the images seemed to correspond to the song to a degree and said song is well liked (7/10). Did you try Newgrounds?

I can't remember this thing at all, but yeah the level of abstraction in animutations these days is ridiculous. Back in the day, animutations were either Monty Python-style music videos or McCain's Sexy Outrage-style animations with an actual story, that were pretty much animated bitmap comics. These days we just have garbage with "hey let's see how much shit I can pack on the screen", "hey let's see how random I can be", and "hey let's see how many memes I can throw in", usually without even making the things on the screen interact, and I'd bet that's one of the main reasons animutation doesn't really appeal to many people anymore. (And yes, I'm guilty of doing that also. Comment Commander was enough of a demoscene ripoff that I guess it's excusable, but something like Dynkur Gjallandi (did I ever release that one?) is pretty much an example of what not to do.)

And now for a real review, since I watched it again:

So yeah, although you obviously have a good idea of how to make something in Flash that doesn't look like shit, you aren't really getting the part where you put it all together. You're tweening things around with no theme, no story, and no Cicierega-Buddudslash-mrwheatley-style music video kind of thing going on, just a few images being tweened around the stage.

Go watch some music videos, some mrwheatley, some DMK if you want to make things with a plot and some Kelenar and VXO if you don't, and also watch some really early animutations (and by early, I mean Kasplat64 and antdocevil early, back when nobody could use Flash worth shit but people still made animutations that beat the polka-dotted boxers off anything made today), and try again.

My next animutation is more of a "music video".

EDIT: Regardless, it hasn't been very popular.

To Surn (sorry for the double-post): I didn't try Newgrounds, and I have no intent to. I'm not a huge Newgroundy News Newgrounds I'm not a huge fan of Newgrounds.

Two No problems on the wiki:

The character they say is Marilyn Monroe is actually Mae West.

The "Mexican sprite" is Stan from Monkey Island.

Fixed.
