This is my second Animutation. Looking back at Operation: A.N.I.M.U.T.A.T.I.O.N ., I seem to have improved; but I\'ll let you guys decide that. Again, any constructive criticism is welcome. Enjoy!

I used the snorks first! How dare you! Nah. Kidding.

Seemed a little empty and character-reusing, but I would count it as improvement. It did remind me of MC NC.

The laziness joke is a little overused and long running. But don't fret on that.

I'm really into Seinfeld lately, so this kind of pulled that off. I'M COSMO KRAMER! THE ASSMAN! That was probably my favorite part.

I think it's been too long since we've seen a real mondegreens based 'mutation, but it's not as easy as it looks, I know.

Still, I enjoyed this, it was classical.

But you didn't do anything for the most animutatable part of the song! And some of the gifs (dancing groundhog) need speeding up.

Anyway, I'm going to rate this based on the scale thing that I made in the randomness thread.

Music- 27/35. Good pick for an animutation, but the generic anime music stuff gets old quickly.
Images- 23/25. Docked two points for excessive kiddy show references.
Randomness- 8/20. Lacking a lot here. Scrolly text and subliminal messages add a lot to an animutation.
Syncage- 7/10. Scene changes, but not much else. Although this didn't need much else.
Flash skill- 7/10. Better erasing on some of the images, speeding up the gifs, better jaw-flapping, and not using gifs that don't import right (the dancing padlock) would be good. But at least this doesn't have the framerate problems or any of the other generic, easy-to-avoid problems, like white screens. (But white screens are good for effects sometimes, like in Barbara and the Flying Spatula.)

So this gets a 67 out of 100.

(Maybe my scale needs fixing, this is one of the better recent animutations out there... Oh well. Anything above a 50 is good.)

Scrolly text and subliminal messages...got it! I'll try adding some on my third Animutation, and that will be whenever I decide to begin it (I'm still choosing a song to use).

And call me stupid, but how do you speed up animated GIFs? I still haven't explored the full potentials of Flash. XD

Thanks for the advice!

Go into the symbol and drag the keyframes right next to each other.

Crappy ASCII diagram time:

If this is the symbol timeline:

[|o| | | | |o| | | | |o| | | | |]
(those o's are supposed to be keyframes)

drag the keyframes over so that it looks like this:

[|o|o|o| | | | | | | | | | | | |]

and then highlight the extra frames, right-click, and select Remove Frame.

This is an step up from Operation:A.N.I.M.U.T.A.I.O.N,and the charictures were good,but you could have used a little more mondegreens,and try not to use the"I'm lazy so i'm leaving text on the screen"thing.

It's spelled characters, not charictures, BTW.

For some reason this reminds me of my Quit Complaining animutation. Similar style, I guess.

Had a good feeling to it, and it looked actually professional and old schoolish.

I plan on making something up to this level with Liveswif when I have enough time this summer...

You're already on a better start then alot of animutators were. Keep it up.

This is an improvement over Operation: A.N.I.M.U.T.A.T.I.O.N., yet I prefer Operation: A.N.I.M.U.T.A.T.I.O.N. more on a personal level. But this wasn't bad either, however, it felt slow to me. I think because at some parts, there was too much talking, but not enough movement.

Needed more things going on in the background. Maybe a few subliminal messages.

It seems you reused too many images (Numbuh 3, Some guy I need to know the name of, Hilary Clinton, ) in this, but I mean, I did too in Phantom Planet. Or used too many images in the same derivative (a buncha cartoon references). Or used too many things I've already seen, even though there where some new ones. Or jokes I've already seen, which there were an abundance of in this movie.

It seems to lack randomness (as Lord Zeebmork said), which is it's biggest flaw.

And it's always a sign when people can know what the subliminal messages are without pausing and stuff,, which I could sometimes, at least with the mastercard one.

And when you reference and bump other material, (the next whummo thing) it makes it harder to create your own strange little world. It also does that if you stuff a "I'm lazy" thing in there, if you're out of ideas, take a break from flash and use the best weird-ass thing you think of.

Don't take this seriously, heck I still have the same problems as I'm not the most advanced flash author. Plus, I wrote this at 9:00 P.M. and didn't get enough sleep last night, so who knows if I'm right or not. I thouroughly enjoyed it, it had other things going for it. No hard feelings. It was cool. Very cool.

Keep experaminting and thinking and you'll get to awesome.

One gripe I have is you overdid having two of the same images appearing on opposite sides.

BTW, penguin, could you show a screenshot of the guy you don't know the name of so we know who you're talking about?

Fear my bad character recognization. The name "JOHN MCCAIN" is springing to mind when I see him. I can't think of any distinguishing features.

One thing I noticed was maybe the main flaw I was noticing, George C wasn't the best fitting singer for this song. I mean, no offense. It can be hard, and sometimes it doesn't matter anyway, but you should try to have the singer be a good choice to fit (or not fit, but comically enough that it's funny) to the voice. It's hard to do and I failed at it the most I ever have at this in Phantom Planet.

What I hope is my last gripe is that the background didn't change very much, but hey, it gave a little of a feel, which is what I like to see.

What it really reminded me of was Nya Nya Nya, and that's a good thing.

That is John McCain alright. He's easier to recognize when in his Sexy Outrage pose, I think.

My responses to the rants:

Image re-using: Sorry about that. I was having Internet connection problems while I was making the movie (Went down, came back, went down, came back...the process continued. It was like that for about two weeks), so the stuff I had on my computer was m.

Lack of randomness: I'll admit it doesn't have much randomness too.

Subliminal messages: Sorry, I didn't understand what you said there. Can you clear it up? :/

Bumping old material: I'll also admit that the "laziness" part was a mistake. I just thought that it would've been some sort of joke to keep it that way, but I guess it didn't go well.

Same image at opposite sides: Sorry, it's just that I have a little habit of having things symmetrical. And unfortunately, my current work will also suffer from that problem.

Singer: Thinking about it after seeing the movie many times after released, maybe George wasn't the best choice for the song.
FUN FACT: I originally intended to use Timmy Turner (from Fairly OddParents) as the singer, but due to lack of decent pictures of him (by that I mean pictures of him with his mouth closed, so it could be easier to move the jaw up and down), I scrapped that and wound up using George instead.

Background: Again, intermittent Internet at the time was the main problem here.

~~~~~~~~~
Conclusion: I admit that I'm not really satisfied with this work (even though I found it more satisfying than Op. ANIMUTATION). I also admit that I hurried up the making of this movie (therefore, the many "filler-like" parts and the infamous "laziness" part).
Hopefully my current work will probably be much better...I hope.
Subliminal messages: I think I'm saying that I knew what that one mastercard was before looking, and I just thought subliminal messages shouldn't be so.
Yeah, I know what you mean, most of the middle of Barbara and the Flying Spatula was pulled off without intrawebs.
So yeah, I think it was good. Overall, pretty good old school feel.
Also, was the inclusion of the Geico Lizard inspired by Barbara and the Flying Spatula at all? Becuase on of the Geico Cavemen made a cameo...
I don't think this gets a 91/100 on the randomness meter....
If that's LZM's scale, you are using it wrong.
You're rating things to extreme, too.
