Author's comments:
Neil Cicierega was said to have invented the concept of animutations in 2001, with a work entitled "The Japanese Pokerap". That never sounded right to me, but I let it go, because I didn't think I'd ever find any evidence to the contrary.

Last night, while digging around through my old floppy disks, I finally found what I was looking for -- a clear case of animutation that I did a decade prior!

Written in April 1990, "Going Now" is clearly the first ever example of Animutation. (All of the apparent references to animutations that were created after 1990 are indeed a fantastic coincidence, and proof once again that God works in mysterious ways.)

If the O RLY? Owl was an award, you'd get it for the description alone.
I love how all the images were "old school" graphics. You did nice!

It nearly fooled me into being a pic by pic animation with the seamless scrolling. Now we gotta wait for someone to convert it to work on an IBM bootdisk...

That's not going to happen anytime soon. (Or at least until somebody writes a SWF player for DOS, which isn't going to happen anytime soon either.)
But I guess it would be possible, if there was an MP3 player for DOS, and you stored each graphic resource as a separate file (probably .pcx), like iso's stuff, along with the position and timing for each file to be displayed...

I am such a nerd.

I love 'themed' animutations. It makes everything that much better when it's not just a bunch of wierd crap happening. Another classic from Veloso.

Didn't you say you were going to do Mold en Mono a while ago? What ever happened to that?

I really like this work because this really depends not upon old, recycled jokes that have already been used in animutation literally millions of times, but threw in some new ideas which make this a rather amazing piece of animutation, with all this VGA/CGA stuff.

I am thinking that this work be a must-see in the wiki. What says everybody else?

It might not be true[referring to when it was made], but it is still enjoyable and a different breath from other 'mutations with the simplistic style.

This is very good, my only problem with it is that it is too short, but still good.

This one was good. Very good. Plenty of references, but not the same old references; I'm talking about ones to more obscure titles like "Gellato el Chocolato" and stuff like that. VeLoSo is one of Animutopia's national heroes.

You know, there IS music during the CGA easter egg...and it's the promotional theme song from this very funny ad for some sort of Spanish brand of bug spray called "Super Timor".

That was funny, awesome, totally VGA/CGA, and it brought tears to my eyes. I remember when computers were like that. It's all coming back to me! Good job!
