Collaborative - Albuquerque Part 1
Score: 6.15 | Votes: 13
|
Author's comments:
The classic coming-of-age story of a young boy looking to escape his tragic past, his abusive parents, and his hatred for sauerkraut. A touching tale of luck, love, loss, and laughs. This is where the saga begins: in a little place called Albuquerque.
Keep an eye out for Part 2: Out when it's good and ready!

I laughed at seeing the Colin/Peach combo, and also, I use MX as well.

I didn't think it was possible to be worse than my low expectations, but wow. Just wow. This really is a pathetic piece of ****.

It was all right. Not necessarily NEWGROUNDS frontpage material, though. But then again, I had no part in it, so what do I have to complain about?

Dude that was crap. Honestly to all those who put the effort in, it just wasn't that great. Better luck with next time.

I've been watching this thing progress and interfering with it at a minimum. I honestly didn't expect it to go this far. The whole idea was a little too different from what the traditional animutation style allowed... on top of it all, it was being authored mostly by (no offense meant) relative newbies to the animutation community.
I think that considering these factors this is a pretty good flash. I do not think it will be a classic or anything close to it, but it was an experiment that worked better than I would have expected it to.
I'm pretty sure that at 2/10 this is the most underrated flash on the portal. We'll see I guess...

Yeah, It is underrated right now, ranking below other stuff that was generally rated bad like Wild Honey Pie[which has 2.50]. But it CAN always change.

Yeah, I liked it too, but it seems that the rating improved.

There were some scenes I really liked in this. And then again, there was some scenes I really didn't like. Overall, it was alright. I'm hopeing that the next two parts are much better.

I applaud you guys. :) The fight scene made me laugh very hard indeed. all the other stuff was great too. Way to make me wish I'd contributed something! ^^
Only one niggle: When it showed the "lucky-lucky" snorkel I was expecting a reference to "lucky lucky nice to Mew-two".

I also use MX, but I compile the video at as low a version as possible, since my stand alone flash player won't play anything higher than 7.
Upon looking at this, I realize that I'm going to have to make more of a contribution to this project.

I tossed in that picture of Arty, The Strongest Man in the World. It's kind of a bad pic, though. That was my subtle little nod to Luck Lucky.

OK, not the best, but good job all you collaborators. The rate it's going right now right here, I definitely wouldn't recommend this to be posted in NG anytime soon.
OH YES! And there is commentary on scene 6.

I liked the movie. Sure, it felt low-concept and hastily thrown together, but it's for that reason that it was a perfect visual adaptation of the song. Interesting to see some Flash newcomers' input in this collab. Can't wait for Part 2!

Don't ask me why I said this, but I am somehow inspired very much by the Lost Fingertips idea, so I am potentially going to do a "Lost in Albuquerque", where rejected scenes get presented in this portal for all to see. Unfortunately, it's going to be a collection of "thank-goodness-it-never-did-make-the-final-cut" kinds of scenes, but so far, there is only three rejects from the first part, but I promise you. After the release of the first of the latter two parts in Albuquerque (which I hope is not as disappointing, I might add) would have a lot more, considering the new rules and regulations in the collab crew. Anyone with rejected works up for it? I am.

Don't get me wrong. It's an effort alright it's just too.........what's the word I'm looking for......smeh. It just doesn't have any pazzazz to it. When I listen to that song I always have the coolest visuals in my head to what I Think a film clip to that song should have. This is just made of recycled animutation pics and doesn't give us anything especially fantastic or well animated.<br />For the next part may I suggest you up the pouytics and level of animation and don't be afraid to add new objects. By the way the correct number of molecules on Lenard Nemoy's butt is 47.
